Racks New Ford
The
dashing floods of Crane Pond roared
When Rack
rode home in a brand new ford.
Old lizzy
stands in the old car shed.
The
spotlights gone the engine dead.
A battered
car and a sign “For Sale”
Is all
that’s left of a car so hale.
“One fifty
bucks” he used to say
Now fifty
clear is all you’ll pay.
The
Eighteen Model Chevrolet
To the
Twenty-four Ford has given way.
Ah well
‘tis the same the whole world through
The old
must give away to the new
The
dashing floods of Crane Pond roared
When Rack
rode home in a brand new Ford.
