Greetings

“Hello dear friend

I thought I’d write

My greetings send

And say Good night”!

When you be real lonely

Sit down and write to me

I’ll answer with pleasure

When I right lonely be.

From my heart today I send

Loving greetings to my friend

Whether toward joy or sadness

Your path in life may wend

Remember my Christmas message

“Forever I’m you friend”

When on Christmas morning

You behold the rising sun

Think, once in a lowly manger

It shone on the Holy One.

Long ago across the snow

Brilliant light from heaven shone

Lighting up this lonely world

To which was given God’s only Son

When you’re baking Christmas pies

And little men with currant eyes

Bake another, one, two, three -

Sit down and eat them all – for me!

Listen to the Christmas bells

Ringing thru the still clear air

“Peace to men” they seem to say

“Good will to mortals everywhere.”
